Default What is this connector?

This picture was taken from the passenger footwell of a 1990 928 GT?

The connector is the item circled in black.

I'm glad you asked... I have the same connector in the footwell of my '87!

BTW, I haven't forgotten about the console and dash, I'll PM you soon.

I think it's a diagnostic port. Can't quite remember.

I think we had one of these posts about a connector in the front driver's side of some of the OB's that never got answered, too..

It's the "lousy gas" connector for trips to Lower Slobovia where the maximum octane rating is 85.

Isn't that the connector for the euro CO adjuster?

If it has three pins (well it might only have two but with the space for the third ) and two wires connected it could be for the CO adjustment pot on non cat cars. But I have a vague memory that there is another loose plug dangling around in there on my both my 88 (non cat) and 90 (gutted cat). John Speake wil know the answer.

85 Octane! Wow, what luxury. I have recently seen gas pumps listing octanes as low as 76 in Russia, but going all the way up to 98.

Back in '98 the Economist or Financial Times stated that if Russian GDP grows at the fastest rate of growth in the world (9%), it would take 150 years to get to the current (1998) standard of living in the United States. So, that 76 octane isn't going anyhere soon.
