Default Motorsport X-over prices?

I've been to the website looking for the crossover prices. Doesn't seem to work right. Does anyone know what the prices are for the various configurations? Regular steel vs. stainless, with and without cats?

Hey Malcolm, we also sell our X-overs...

Brian, the aluminized X is $399.95, the stainless version is $549.95 and the cats are $299.95. There is also an installation kit available that contains new collector gaskets and hardware for $24.95. The X comes with the necessary clamps as do the cats. The cat option also includes straight pipes for those times you may not want to run cats...

Highly recommend this X pipe from Dave Lomas.
I have fitted/helped fit six of them and they are the best bang for the buck you can get.
An immidiate seat of the pants increase in HP.
Keep up the good work Dave.
I am about to fit a Y pipe to my 82 Weissach - should be interesting.

Can the Ott-type X-pipe be used with the stock cats? And the muffler eliminated via an RMB on the '88 S4? I'm planning upgrades.

You really don't want to keep the stock cats except maybe on a shelf in the garage, new cats flow much better.

Harvey,
No I do not believe it can.
I have got rid of my stock cats and used the cats that Dave supplies.
Car passes emissions really cleanly.
You can remove the cats if you prefer but the noise is louder and more aggressive IMOO.
The other bonus is you remove the air pump and related piping. Thats 12Lbs in weight.
Also it gives you so much more room to work on the tensioner and A/C compressor.
I have stock resonators and rear muffler on my 87 and GTS and the sound is very very nice to my ear.

In that case use an RMB but be aware that it will be louder.

Much louder.........I experimented with a RMB, stock rear muffler and GT rear muffler with the X sans cats and 'small' resonators.

RMB was too loud
Stock was too quiet and unsightly (platypus tail)
GT muffler is somewhere in the middle for noise and better twin pipe look...........thats whats on there now.

A local 89GT owner had the x pipe with GT resonators and an RMB - to loud for his wife!!!
Took off the GT resonators and replaced them with the larger S4 units and the noise was acceptable to his SO.

I had thought about that version also but getting a set of the S4 resonators here to experiment was too cost prohibitive.

Have you heard this car yourself Roger?

Perhaps I can relook at this version.
