Default Recover front seat/seats

My driver seat needs recovering - anyone have a source for leather/vinyl?
Anyone had the work done by a "pro"?

Deb - 928 Specialist sells them. If you do it yourself, you'll need hog-ring pliers and the rings--available at upholstery shops. and some upholstery glue. I think it's also covered in the workshop manuals. / Bruce

Is shipping seats a problem? Anyone know if the conversion to Sports Seats is as strong as the original Porsche?

For shipping your best bet would be to remove the seat backs so they can fit in boxes that Fedex or UPS will ship. I'd also like to know more about the sport seat conversion.

Hello all,

I guess I better chime in on this one.

there is no difference between a regular comfort seat frame and a sport seat frame aside from 4 additional bolster brackets.

The conversion of regular comfort seats to sport seats is $350.00
I am still working on offering a group buy for seats that will also cover the sport seat conversion at a special price of $250.00 for both front seats.
That includes welding 4 new custom supports to the existing frame and the
modification of the foam.
The result is a seat with the shape and support of the sport design, while keeping the electrical options of the comfort seat. And since the bars are the same size and welded in the same places as the originals, the end result is just as strong. Keep in mind that there is no weight saving with this option, and you do need new sport covers after the conversion.

Thanks

Paul

My seats were fairly cheap to repair...about $600......looking back on it.....I almost wish I waited for Pauls sport seat conversion group buy....sure it would have cost way more.....but sure would have been cool...that plus I would have got black piping too....

That's basically what it looks like right now. I've removed some more paint and the headlight assemblies. Once my garage gets finished, I'll start to work on replacing some of the material I have removed.
