Default Pressurized Brake bleeding in SF area?

Any SF bay area Rennlisters have a brake bleeder?

Any opinions on using the bleed screws?

Thanks,

I got a Motiv power bleeder.....just bought it from my neighbor for cheap!! Its really easy, I did the last one with Bill at his place......just remove as much fluid as you can from the master cylinder....then fill the motiv, attach and pump it up......two bleeders on each brake (one for you)....takes about an hour with most of the time spent lifting the car and removing wheels!

I've been wondering about this stuff - when I do a fluid swap at the calipers with the beel screws, does the ABS system get bled, too?

Yes.

The fluid from the bleeder flows through the MC, through the ABS pump, the calipers, and out.

Looks cold in Boise, from your avatar...

Thanks for the info. I've seen other cars with a slightly different setup.

My avatar pic was from the May '06 hillclimb up Bogus Basin last Labor day weekend! First snow-out ever! I got in one run, then it snowed 6" in a couple of hours. bummer.

Was an interesting drive down the mountain that day. No real 'issues' but had to tip toe a bit.

Yup blue & gold are exactly the same thing except for color! The idea is to switch colors when you switch fluid, that way you know for sure when the old fluid is gone! Its really easy!

Loren:

Add my yes vote on the Motiv power bleeder.

They work great and they're not too expensive. I got mine from Pelican Parts a couple of years ago for $41.00 (ended up being $50 with tax & shipping) - don't know what they sell for now, but definitely worth the money.
