Seller is 8%
Buyer is 10%

So Barrett-Jackson collects 18% on every car

The seller has the option to bid on their own car if the price is not high enough. This is how they get away with such a large "no reserve" auction. Thing is, if you are the seller & you win your car back. You pay 18%

It's a gamble the car will create some excitement - run up the price. There was a 911 Cabrio last year that got the 911 forum in a tizzy. It was a nice car at best. Went for what a low mileage, perfect example would sell for on the "regular" market. I've been to a lot of auctions and seen a lot of strange things.

Buyer pays 8% and seller pays 8% so overall Barrett-Jackson profits 16%. I has been my experience that for late model close to stock euro cars sell for well over the low blue book. I guessed $15K for that reason. BTW......it is a nice looking car. I like that color

Weak and inaccurate description...probably won't even sell. $10K tops if it does. Not a very good representation of a 928...just your run of the mill car with absolutely nothing special about it. Any informed buyer walk right past it.

This will be interesting...

No reserve auction.

Since most cars (like this one) will not make it on TV, they are betting most people interested will be there & look over / inspect the car. Sure not a PPI, but auctions seam to bring out a blind faith in a lot of people.

I'll be there as well as Drew. Unfortunately, I won't be going until Friday and the 928 looks like it has a fairly early lot no., so I probably won't get to see it roll across the stage. But, I will check it out if I can and give a report of what I can see (e.g. milage, condition, etc.).

I'm looking forward to this even more now with a decent 928 being there! Was able to turn this into a "marketing" venture with clients for work a couple of years ago, should be a blast as always

Well, it is "plum" (I wonder if that's anything like cassis) and it does have the special 320 hp engine.

Should bring a premium.
