crossmember part no. for 5spd
when we converted the car from auto to manual we didnt change the crossmember as it turns out.. does anyone know the part number for a manual transmission rear crossmember? ive located a couple of them across here in the uk, one ends in 13 and one ends in 14 i believe, are either of these what im after? i know there is a difference between the very early crossmembers pre 1980 and after.

I think 14 and above are usable with some minor mods like Sterling did. Differences between all '80-95 variants are related to other parts than actual box itself AFAIK.

Nick,
Just gone through this with my 5 speed conversion and I don't understand how the 5 speed trans fit into your auto cross member. The holes for trans mounting in the cross member would not have lined up, so how did you make it work?
By the way, the higher the -# the newer the cross member. Since I am not running dual exhausts I used a cross member that was an earlier version than my 1986.5 car and everything changed over no problem.

hey guys, thanks for the info on the part numbers - i will use the 14 crossmember and if necessary adapt the exhaust hangers.
constantine, the box mounted directly to the crossmember without any real problem at all. also i know of at least one other car which has a manual box hanging from an auto crossmember - with the same clearance issue as mine. the clearance issue only seems to be there over large bumps when the crossmember and box contact.
