I think I make more per hour than the shops charge, but that's no reason to throw money away. Economics are economics, it's micro vs. macro I guess...

I think it’s really a shame there are 928 enthusiasts who feel any pre 32V 928 isn’t worth the metal it’s made out of. Guess we should all just scrap our OB’s since they are so worthless.
So what if you have a few bills into an OB than you could have bought an S4 for? Ever consider the fact that a few of us simply do not care?
I should remind Jean-Louis as he’s passing GT3’s in his OB what a waste of time and money his car is – since based on this logic he would be lapping the GT3’s in an S4.
Why do some have this urge to criticize anyone trying to modify their car? Why don’t we rally together and help each other vs. standing on a soap box telling us how worthless our projects are?
Poor Tim down in Chicago who restored his interior and soon to be exterior. What a complete waste of money – what a fool he is for not selling that worthless OB for an S4.

My son and I took a ride today down Santiago Canyon Road, which runs through the Orange County foothills, and is a very popular Harley route. Gentle hills, good road surface, nice scenery, nothing twisty, but just a fun half hour ride, and Cooks Corner near the end where the road turns into El Toro with maybe a 100 bikes parked out front on a Sunday.
We are both about 225 lbs, and with any kind of grade the power wasn't very impressive. Who wants to need to downshift and run up to 6000 rpm just to pass a minivan? What it reminded me the most of was a Honda sedan I drove once years ago. The engine was hi revving and very impressive, but it didn't seem the right size for the car, too small of engine or too heavy of a car.

No sunroof is something I am REAL sure about. I don't see a clean conversion costing less than $3500, and could be double that if a respray of the whole car worked better. Anybody sees nice 87/89 with roof damage that isn't red with a 5 spd CHEAP let me know.
Chances are good that my 83 will be in the exact perfect condition I want before that happens.

I just think its funny that after all your posts before you had even looked at a car, let alone before you bought one, you were so perticular about getting the right car. And youve now owned the car for what a month, and already its not fast enough.

It doesn't take 5 minutes to decide you could use some more power, that was NEVER a question. How much more power and how to do it is the question.
Porsche must have intentionally made the 928 this way. Its all or nothing off the line. Rev the engine and drop the clutch to burn out, or pretty much anything less than a tire spinning start and you have to wait a few seconds for the RPM to get into the torque band.
I still have a LOT of getting used to the car, and I am no place close to making any specific decision, but more power is in my future.
