It's not like I'm going around starting threads about him. I'm simply commenting about items that are posted that are 100% false - I cannot help it if making these comments paints someone in a bad light.

What's the title of the tread in OT?

Nice Andrew! We need that smiley here.
You are right - going behind John D's back & failing to pay up on something you signed up for (that something is where you get your customers) doesn't show any lack of character that might cause us to question why anyone would want to do business with him.
Considering how 100% supportive people like Mark Anderson, Jim Bailey, DEVEK, Tim Murphy, Dave Roberts, Dave Lomas, Garrity…..hell, the list goes on and on. Why would anyone have any reason to deal with a vendor (term used very loosely) that repeatedly makes a bad name for himself? You know the expression, don’t bite the hand that feeds.
Based on the PM’s I’m receiving, it’s nice to know I’m in the majority here.
I dunno - choosing to participate in any way with him at this point considering recent actions against a well respected vendor & Rennlist itself - you might as well slap Jen & kick John D square in the nuts yourself.

That is just one of many issues quite a few Rennlisters have. In many threads this issues have been voiced. Hell, at one time I would have defended him. Not anymore, not after this past week.

Let's see:
1. Sign up to be a sponsor
2. Collect as many e-mail addresses as you can
3. Pull your sponsorship before it's even paid in full - claiming Rennlist never benefited you.
4. Use these e-mails to further build your business.
That mass e-mail was for a new product – targeting Rennlist members.
Yea, 100% A-Ok in my book & someone I would do business with
Fact is there are enough people who are so dead set on a turbo being the only performance option. No matter what the only turbo offering vendor (term used loosely) does, it’s going to be acceptable to them. Remember the fiasco with Andy? How many people were left in limbo for how long? Yet almost everyone defended him to the death. Why? They had no choice. He was the only option for a positive displacement blower on the 928. Same scenario is happening all over again with Mark.

928 Motorsports 16V kit - seems to be a proven system - I don't know how many are on the road, but it seems to be well supported by the merchant. For MY 78-84
928 Specialists - two know installs (aside from the prototype). Great support - a few issues, but nothing major. Major waitlist. Based on the Andy Keel twin-screw kit which is NLA. For 87+
928Turbosports - One known install in progress. Unknow support qulaity. Not welcome on rennlist for now. For 85-86 5-speed and maybe autos. Might also work on other years, but unknown.
Did I miss anything?

You forgot one Andrew: P9 Motorsports is working on a Rear Turbo option that can be used in any 5sp OR auto from '85 on up. Don't know where they are with this lately but I thought they where close to doing a shark tune and a final dyno.
One way or another I'm going to have a turbo 928, see my avatar...
I'm also going to rebuild my crispy Andy Keel kit so I can have a twinscrew as well...
Just need to refab few parts and rebuild the whipple, maybe by then John Speake will have the sharktuner ready to go for the 85-86 LH 2.2.
Boost is good

Just be careful, you may be accused of steeling the single rearish turbo idea

The Supercharger topic is certainly living up to it's legendary status! I joined rennlist recently, right after buying a 1988 5 speed with a FAST kit that was installed on it by the previous owner.
I quickly learned that it was kind of a difficult subject to get help with.
I read that the FAST kit was suspect, at least early models were due to a bracket design, so I tried to find out what I'd got myself into. I still don't know how close to the edge I may be living.
To be fair though, the FAST kit on my '88 has been on there putting out 5lbs of boost for nearly three years albeit only a few thousand miles per year (the previous owner didn't even drive it in the rain and put it up for the Erie Pa. winters).
I tried to get the Murph camp to price out the replacement parts to help me build a Murph designed version. I thought this would be easy enough to do since a search here on Rennlist showed people had been offered the Murph kit without the Vortech unit included before...
I figured I might as well be safe, change out the bracket, pulleys etc....plumbing if necessary. thought I might be able to re-use the Vortech unit, the blow off valve, keep the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and 30lb injectors and save a few thousand dollars off the price of a full Murph kit....
Well the guy who did return my email said he'd get Murph to deal with it since he knew better what would be involved. I never heard back from them
Mark Robinson also responded but he was more interested in telling me about his new Turbo project. Can't blame him there, he had already walked away from the supercharger project. Note, he did mention he had been screwed over by partner but didn't mention any names and when I ordered a vacuum line kit from Mark it came right on time, good product...no complaints from me on that either.
I just thought it's worth mentioning these things in this thread because us new comers get bogged down in this infighting and it becomes frustrating and we end up with more questions than answers!
As far as my own experience, the FAST kit "appears" to be rock solid and works flawlessly and Mark Robinson's service on the one product he sold me personally was delivered as expected.
Where as, on the other hand, I went with my gut based on what other members here, who's opinions I've gathered is to be valued, had to say about Murph and tried to buy his product and got no results.....
So I take this personal back and forth stuff with a very large block of salt when it gets heated in a supercharger thread.
The problem for me still is, no one, not Murph, not Mark Robinson, not anyone is willing to put aside the polarizing infighting to tell me exactly what I do have and why it's a problem! I don't want to keep it on the car if it's a time bomb but frankly, based on searches here on rennlist I think the Porsche factory belt tensioner/water pump has a worse track record than the FAST kit!
I wish someone could put aside the partisan bickering and 'splain it to me!
