I can vouch for the 33 route suggested by Bronto. Years ago, before leaving SoCal, I used to ride my ol' bikes up 33, to Song Dog Ranch, which is/was a MC only camping ground.....I think I heard they went under.... Yes, the route is not populated much at all, with few side roads coming in either, for MANY miles, spectacular going up from Ojai. Many altitude variations, with the badly missed by me curving roads. Coming out 'behind' Mt. Pinos, 33 intersects with some other hyway, and close to there was a service station with a small assortment of .....snacks? There are a few watering holes along the way, you have to keep an eye open for them, or know where they are...

32 years ago, my brother and I rode up to Atascadero on the coast, then went inland to 99, then south and home. Atascadero was a pretty area, and the road inland was of some fun.

I'll regret having to once again miss that gathering/drive.... But, so very glad to be gone from THAT cost of living!

If Bronto or anyone else has lived for awhile around the SB area, and have been adventurous, I'll bet there are a treasure chest of roads I never saw or heard about!

Hi All - I'm the new "Den Mother" for the WPa 928OC, and will be working with some of the other 928OC folks to put together an event in Pittsburgh this mid-July to coincide with the annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix race. It's a big event here and brings out all of the various car clubs, domestic and foreign. Never see many sharks though (many many 911s, 356s, etc), so would like to change that here! Anyway, more to follow on this at the 928OC site, after the holidays...

Don't forget the PCA Zone 7 concours Sunday May 20th at Delta College in Stockton!! Standard PCA Concours competition on GRASS..... co-sponsored by the SSS (Stockton Sharks Society)....I hope to get a good 928 turnout at the event....guaranteed at least two (SSS).....I would love to see several more!

The exact date of the Packer party will not be known until the NFL releases the schedule. I think we are going to keep it the first regular season home game. This year it was just dumb luck the first game was with the Bears.

You can add the date for Sharks at the Lake (June 15-17). That's an awesome event - highly recommended!!!

Here in Salt Lake some time in March we are planning a car show/parade laps at MMP, it is still in the works and nothing is firm as far as dates go. Stay tuned for more info. I think it would be great to see if any of ous fellow sharksters would like to join us. PM me or just post on this thread if you would like to attend. I am also trying to get something going at Hill Air Force Base like a photo op of a line of sharks with some fighters in the background.
