I found the same thing out recentlly when looking for size specs on my 16" S03's, which I bought in March. No longer around. I'm taking mine off of the car when I get my 17's mounted, and they'll go into my "museum" above the garage along with my D90's.

You can't have everything. The high speed rated tires (Z, etc) have stiffer sidewalls...which equates to "they make more noise" than the softer sidewall that's not so high speed rated. My S03s are really noisey and they've only got a few thousand miles on them. Not sure I can have quiet AND good high speed tire at the same time. None of the Z rated tires I've tried are reasonably quiet.

The funny thing is that now that I have Chaad's Falken GR Beta FK451s in 225/50 and 245/45 16"s
on my car the rears spin on dry pavement at half throddle on a startup.
I agree that the Dunlops were suspect.

The ContiSports have very thin sidewalls, are pretty quiet and very light. They're Z rated.
