Here's a version of the picture with larger, more modern looking wheels in addition to the side vent. I think it looks pretty good. Sorry for the poor quality but I only have MS Paint to work with.

Rear wheel needs to have smaller offset and larger diameter in that pic Niels. It looks like an '85 or 944n/a with its rear spacer removed. Bring the rear wheel out to the fender and raise its size from the 15 it looks like to a 19 or 18 .

You're right, it does look a bit small in the back

I had to pick up my daugther at daycare, so I finished it in a hurry. Not that this one is of a much better quality, but at least its wider, and that's always better

I just wanted to give an update on the progress of the car. It is now in Florida and is being refurbished. I found a few vacume leaks in the engine compartment so I replaced the vacume lines with a set of red silicon hoses from Carl at 928 Motorsports. I pulled the door panels because the leather had shrunk and is in need of replacement. I haven't bought the leather yet so the doors are on hold. I now have some monster 3" wheel spacers to bring the wheels out some more. I have pulled the rear muffler due to some small rust holes. I pulled the battery box and the fuel pump cover, sanded and repainted them. The transaxle oil has been changed to Schaeffers molly synthetic. I have also begun the tranformation of the body.

Today I added 37 mm of additional wheel spacing. I removed the 2" spacers and replaced them with a 3" and a 12mm spacer. This brings the stock wheels out to almost where they need to be. I also grabbed one of my Cup II wheels from my 84 and stuck it on the other side just to see how it fits. This is a wider wheel and tire. It looks beefier for sure. Here are some before and after pics.
