Default New Wheels! (new looks)

I finally got the wheels that I've been lusting after for a few years now. Universal "Baby's Got New Shoes" smilie>>>
After seeing Chuck Z's wheel choice on his dark blue GTS, I was hooked. These are Keith Widom's wheels meet 928SS wheels (Click here....Clone between first & last images) I think that these wheels epitomize the classic Porsche look while adding a more contemporary, aggressive look to the 928 (it is a Shark afterall)
These are 18" RH RAL (2 piece) w/Michelin PS2. I don't know why, but going up an inch from my previous 17's has resulted in a smoother ride. I need to check the pressure that RH put in these....Also, I had a tiny bit of tramlining which is completely gone now. I think the tramlining was due to the nature of the previous tires, but more due to the 10mm less offset on the front wheels.

Fitment of these is perfect. They fill the wells perfectly, and don't protrude too much, or sit in too much..
More meat in the front, and much more in the back (not as much as Andrew's, however).
No rubbing lock-to-lock, no spacers needed, no rolling, etc. Just bolted 'em up.
I'd cut off 7mm of my dust caps, so the Porsche centers popped right in.
I have to say that Joe at RH is as professional as they come. He gets a huge thumbup from me. I said that I wanted to go as wide as I could without rubbing, or rolling. I figured on a comfort level of 235/40 front; 275/35 rear.
Since Joe hadn't applied that fitment to a 928, he wouldn't take my money until he was absolutely sure that the tire combo was right, and it is.
Went for a little drive today, and did some errands. People who wouldn't have given my car a second look are now checking it out (I live in an area full of Porsches and many other exotics....also many carsnobs) The first guy that I noticed checking it out was driving a late model C4S. People would first look at the wheels, then at the car.
I'll never tire of this look.

Congrats on the new rims!

Real good choice man, I like what they do for the 928 Your gonna like the PS2s as well...I love that view in the first pic you got up, that down low, rear 1/4 view, esp w/ wide rubber. I got more pics of my car at that angle than any other...

What are the widths and offsets if you don't mind me asking?

Enjoy

Wow, are they really deep dish, like your bottom picture, or is it an optical illusion? I can't quite tell, but they look awesome!

me likey!! Very sharp & the 59mm offset in the front +8.5" rim fits nice....now you can run a 255 front tire vs only a 235 on an 8"

The rears are deeper 'dish' than I was expecting, which is fine with me! The stainless lips give a nice reflection, and enhance the deep-dish look.
I previously had a set of Boxster S wheels that were 8.5" wide in the rear. These had a 50mm offset, which is only 2mm less than the original rear offset. They were set in from the rear fender too far, IMO. I almost could have used a 10mm spacer for aesthetics with those wheels.

The RAL's are 10" in the back however, and they come out to the rear fender just enough, giving it a wider stance, without the need to roll.

Those are hot wheels!

They have the cup style with the polished lips. I have the RH AG Cups on my 993(similar look, but not as light and expensive as yours, I think).

I have seriously thought about trying them on my shark, but don't think I would like the twists that much on the 993.

Nice choice.

Wow! What great looking wheels. I like them better than mine. Care to divulge the cost of the package? How much do they weigh?

Jeez,

Those are beeyoutiful man. Do you have any pix of the whole car? You know, for the 'big picture'?

They have just the right mix of style, class and detail. Dead center between lots of detail and too laid back.. Really nice.
