Default Clifford model 8

Apparently the first thing the original owner of the 83 I have did was install a Clifford model 8 alarm system. I have a keypad on the left side of the pod, and found some docs in the paperwork, but nothing else. Is this a reasonable system to leave in the car assuming it still works, or something I should be replacing?

So far I haven't touched it, but I plan to replace the am/fm cassette asap, and the same shop is savvy on alarms, and if Clifford still exists I think even a dealer for them. I am sure it would freak out the shop in San Diego if I walked in with the lifetime warranty (applies to first owner only I am sure).

It is best to carefully remove the clifford and fix the wiring because it could possibly self arm and keep the engine from running depending on how it was wired. I believe that your car has a factory alarm according to the option codes you posted so how many alarms does it need ? Besides 928s are very, very rarely ever stolen (no big market for parts). There is far more money to be made stealing Hondas and Toyotas....

Its been in since 1983, and a local shop is a clifford dealer from that same period with the same owners, so I am going to swing by today ask a few questions. Who knows, maybe its still working.

I would prefer a key fob entry to poking the key in all the time.
