Why just vent it to the atmo for a short period, why not convert to a air oil seperator instead? And vent that to atmo, it is alot neater and you wont get oil all over everything. would be a good idea to adjust the CO mix at idle with O2 sensor disconnected.

What O2 sensor - Non cat euro cars don't have one LOL another reason for installing cats. I may well consider converting to oil separator or GTS style venting at somestage. Just want to get it on the road first.

Man, must be nice! Any car 1975+ has to pass emissions here to be a daily driver (and they actually do catch antique-ers motoring around during the week to issue fines). However, we don't do the dyno, just simple CO and HC tests.

Success

My 88 SE passed it's IM240 test today. I cheated. I had set the base emissions without cat or airpump back to 1% CO standad for a None CAT None O2 sensor car, and was going to go with that. However the two month wait for a test forced me into fitting a Cat with no O2 sensor (temporarily) to get the SE through the test. I increased the base mixture to about 1.1%CO to give the CAT something to work with. The cat will come off and back on goes the original front muffler before the car goes to the Compliance Engineer.

Results were - with Mikes results posted for future ref.
