just as a thought, i would not advise hooking up trailor chains to the tow hook. I have seen/heard of these breaking under any kind of non-parallel load to the horizontal axis. If the tongue of the trailor popped off the hitchball, the chains would snap that tow hook like a twig, yes?. One would be better off welding small plate to the receiver that the hooks could go into.
