I noticed that there are several low priced Cayenne wheels for sale on Ebay. what intrigued me as a set of 4 19x9 65mm offset for $99.00. I know they would increase my unsprung weight and that they are more likely to get bent than smaller diameter wheels. They also would stiffen the ride quality. But every decision has trade offs. Using the 19's with 265/30 tires which would fit under the front fenders would allow me to use the same setup at all four corners. The larger contact patch on the front would increase the turn in and would allow me to fully utilize the S4 brakes I upgraded to. In the rear the wheels would require a spacer to "Fill" the wheelwells. Again the larger contact patch would help the handling. Another plus would be I could rotate the tires front to back.
I know it is not the norm, but I remember a thread where someone in the UK used the same wheels in 18" and they looked good. Does anyone have any thoughts or esperience with 9 inch wid 65 mm offset wheels on the fron of an early 928.
VT928 - send me a PM with your email address and I'll email back to you a simple excel s'sheet application I found on the web that shows a graphic of the differences in tyre diameter and inner and outer offsets between any two chosen wheel, offeset and tyre size combinations.
