Nicole,
Do you know anything about the car - 4 of them - that is?
Can you confirm they did sell an Avalanche version?
Thanks,
Roger

I'd like to see the reciepts, there must be more detail on the engine mods.

I find it very intersting also.

It would be nice to have such a bespoke 928.

I wonder if it has the 2.54 rear end (it should) because of the claimed 185mph top end.
I like it.
I know what you are thinking Roger...you won't get any argument from me!!

Actually, I was quite surprised that they called this Avalanche. I had never heard about this before. But Gemballa made so many individual things - who knows what he did and what he called it?

"Once more unto the breach dear friends"
When I first started visiting the USA in the late 80's I had a presentation covering my companies capabilities. One of the bullet points was our "Bespoke Software" and every time I made the statement I was always asked what was bespoke?
Whats up with you Americans - never been to Saville Row?

I love the car and am seriuosly thinking of having it as my UK steed.

My Gemballa has Gemballa (bespoke) center caps. And custom stanless exhaust with four pipes exiting the custom bumper cover. The rest appears to be H&R springs and Bilstein front shocks. I have replaced all four springs with Eibach.

Ok, but in Europe most cars are compacts and have tire widths not much larger than 195mm. So comparing a 265 to a 195, they do look massive!

Avalanche name has been usually reserved for Gemballas wildest 911 version. This 928 is nowhere near wild enough compared to those. It looks same as few other of the four or what ever number were made. I think name is later addition.

HTML Code:
Carillo rods, forged pistons & bespoke cams
Somehow does not sound right...
This is an expensive way to go for just an extra 200cc but I guess this is the about the maximum you could theoretically achieve without installing a stroker crank.

I guess with suitable cams you could increase the HP over a narrow range at the expense of losing the long flat torque curve. Maybe somebody with suitable technical knowledge could say if 400hp would be feasible with such an approach - I have no idea...
