Here's a 9 second car. An Audi S4 in Poland, no video however but the car is pushing 1000hp. www.audiworld.com front page feature.
As for the Vette, if he's lying it's only a matter of time before he gets called on it over on the Vette boards.

Thank you for being so insightful...
The guy making the run has video, a time-slip, and a bunch of witnesses. WTF do you have to support your claim of it NOT being a 10-second run besides being a 'Crew chief'?
You know what, why don't call the track up and find out for yourself and report back what they tell you, here's their website:

Shut up, or put up.

In case you didnt notice....I am in the UK....
The reasons why I dont think thats a 10 second quarter....
Thats the worst video I ever saw...with NO ET...etc...
Secondly and most importantly.......EXPERIENCE....
I "KNOW" what a 10 looks like....and that aint it.....
Lets see the original video.....not the compressed version.....and a 1.5 to 2 second difference from the factory figure IS NOT THE DRIVER....a couple of tenths maybe...NOT a couple of seconds... lol
You dont want to listen to my opinion fine.....
Lets see HIS proof.....

In case you dont get to the strip much.... a "10" is anything from a 10.001 to a 10.999 .....

Launching surface?
Conditions?
Amount of gas in the car?

It's not the destination but the journey that matters. Paying for speed off the showroom floor is no accomplishment. Wow, your bank accounts bigger than mine..
Building up your own ride is more enjoyable in my book. My '70 MachI Mustang with a 600hp 428SCJ could do high 11's on a good day. Granted, much, much heavier than the vette, but I feel 10 is a stretch. Not saying that was not a 10 second run, but it was hard to tell. I couldn't get sound to work. Anyone else have that issue? With sound you can tell if the video has been speed up, sinc ethe engine will sound like a honda not a vette.

I could care less if this video is real or not. But claiming you know for a fact it's false due to your experience (that does not include ever driving the car in question) is BS.
All the best
One example of many - R&T 1/4 mile stock (on stock tires) 12.2
So that brings this video down to a difference of 1.35 seconds.......the plot thickens. A well known 928 owner picked up about that much at the drag strip by changing tires.

What do we have here......Car & Driver (again, street tires) posted a 11.8 second 1/4 mile time.
So, are tires and a better driver + maybe less gas + harder shifting + better launch worth 1 second?
