Default + How to remove road paint? +

About 10 days ago - unknown to me - I went over a wet white line and noticed it the next day - it was dry by then - I haven't tried to remove it yet..

So, what is the best way to "aliminate" that crap with-out doing to much damage?

how bout some more specifics, you ran over it?

so its on the tire? or you ran over it and it went from the tire and sprayed all over the rear bumper, or across the lower part of the doors from the front wheel?

where is the damage?

i imagine that paint is pretty durable stuff, but if its just little bits all over the car, like overspray, you can probably get it off with a claybar

It's quite often a thermo plastic paint with glass granules in it to improve its reflective properties - if so clay bar not a good idea. Try heating it up with a hairdryer that may soften it so you can peel it off with a finger nail. May not get hot enough but I am loathe to suggest a hot air gun - your choice.

NO NO NO NO! This is my area of expertise. (I'm a project manager for a striping company) If it is thermo which I doubt, it should flake right off. If it doesn't you should get it cold by applying ice to the area which in turn will make it more brittle. Use a stiff plastic scraper to pick the material off the car.

If it is paint you would probably benefit most from using either gasoline or diesel to break down the paint. Simple green works well also but leaves a nasty film thats a real pita to get rid of. Either way be prepared to wax and clay bar the car several times after.

It's the white reflective paint used on most road I suppose....Like the one in jarroyo's avatar but white.

Thanks for the tips, I'll go with the scraper technic...wich was the one in my head.

The damage is on the front lower fender and rear bumper....
