after installing the MAF the car seemed more crisp. (yeah whatever that means) But my idle issue when cold is still present. I am now thinking a faulty O2 sensor. So i think John Speake had suggested a method for testing it by unplugging it and disconnecting the battery and trying that. I think it is definately heat related, as it only occurs when stone cold and goes away after 10 -20 seconds

Hi Ryan
Bear in mind that when the engine is cold, until water temp gets to around 45 deg C (varies with MY software) the O2 sensor voltage is ignored - the car runs open loop.

I just sent my MAS to injection labs, and they are sending it back. they said it was one of the few that was in spec and appeared to need nothing. No charge. I have no receipt for a new MAS in my records on the car that go back to the '80s, so I assumed it could be original. It must have been replaced.
I was going to have it rebuilt as a preventative measure, the car was running very well.
I give them high marks on what they seem to know and their professionalism.
