its home made and was lots of fun to do my project started as a need to update my speedo as i had lost the gearbox driven sender unit, while thinking about it i realised that i was also frustrated by the existing layout as it wasnt easily visible with the momo steering wheel and it went from there. the layout grew around the tacho and oil pressure guages, i opted for mechanical gauges wherever possible and have shifted fuel and voltage off the dash and into the ashtray space to make way for the air/fuel guage along with boost/air temp.

the wiring diagram is really usefull, just make sure you orient it correctly to the dash as you splice into it! i have not yet finished my install and im running without most of the idiot light/warning lights connected except the master caution which is functional and placed centraly. ive also wired in a shift light with the led mounted above the tacho - its just what you need. i dont need to even look at the tacho now unless i want to, the led is BRIGHT! no missing it when it lights up and signals time to upshift, the shift point is user programmable.

I'll wholeheartedly second that "nice", Nick. Who's the gauge manufacturer?

Default racetech

james, ive used racetech gauges mainly as i really liked this tacho with its compressed 0-2k and then a nice sweep around to 7k. other tacho gauges typicaly read to 8k and in effect this gives a shorter 'sweep' in our cars with the redline around 6.5k. the other thing i liked with the racetech gauges is that the needles are white on the mechanical gauges, kind of airplane cockpit like if i was doing it again i might consider using a VDO fuel gauge as it might work with the stock fuel sender and this would save a modification.

to be fair the speedo is a bit to far to the left when its all mounted and im driving to see without deliberately looking but i also have a digital readout on a gps speed-camera thingy that is enlarged for quick reference. the gps readout lags the actual speed change making the clock more accurate during accel or deccel ie when slowing down for a speed trap!

So you spliced directly into the Foil then or did you place it all onto a PCB then run it thing film to the cars connectors? I am trying to think of the best way to remove the old printed circuit from my mix since it is complete trash. I am guessing with everything else I want to do in the mean time I will recover my dash to at least get me to comfortable with the looks of the car... then pick up a second 928 to tinker with..

Hi All

I must say that having seen Nicks dash...its probably the best dash conversion or adaption I have EVER SEEN !!!

Nicks only problem is that if anyone breaks into that car.....they would steal the dash lol...i WOULD.....

But dont kid yourself...I would bet that took a HUGE number of hours if Nick added them all up...

All the best Brett

thanks brett! im sure it would be easily possible to make a better job than i have if someone has more patience. using the existing pod as a mounting makes it easier and keeps some of the 928 character. yeah i hope no one takes your advice but in the event i will be suspicious if the nitrous S2 shows up with extra clocks

Hi Nick

Well IF I was going to break into any 928....im afraid it would be a case of forget stealing a supercharger lol...your dash would be history lol

All the best Brett
