Does the 928 have 2 types of LSD or just one? 968s have both a Thorsen type and a clutch type in the year 1994. They may be same option code (?) but they operate differently.

Only one (clutch) type but two slightly different designs. '78-83 and '84-89 IIRR.
In 968 option code is always 220, '92 is clutch and '93-95 Torsen IIRR.

I believe the 2 types are LSD, code 220, and PSD, code 221. 220 std on 88 or 89 and 221, std on 90 and up i believe.

PSD is kind of clutch type LSD but is generally not counted as one because of electronics.
40% ZF LSD was optional on all '78-89 cars, except when it was standard. These being '88-89 CS, '88 SE and '89 GT.
