The extra pulley is for older car with mechanical fans instead of your S4 with the electric fans...

Default Airbox hookup

So that's what that air hose to the underside of the airbox connection is for. Wasn't till 2nd or 3rd year of ownership when told there's a airtube connection on the pasenger side. Had been running for over 2 years with the input tube just flopping under the air-box.

Major OUCH on the Merc emissions equipment.
Er can you adapt the electric clutch setup to fire up a SC like the current Mercedes SC setup that decouples scrollers at idle.

All 928 air pumps run all the time. On decel, pumped air is diverted to the airbox, so as to avoid backfiring in the cat.
