Guards RED
I went to the local auto paint store today to get a mix of some touch up paint. Up til now, I was a little confused about the indi red vs guards red. The guy told me they were the same thing. Is this true, what would I call mine for 86.5 code 027.. What year did they change the name ??

India and guards are basically the same......some think there is a very subtle difference, but I can't see it......my guards red is 80K.....but the codes do change from time to time

Your 86.5 is Indischrot just like mine. It should say so in the driver (usa) door jamb.

Has the years of Guards vs Indischrot, but I'd challenge the accuracy since I have a '85 and the door jams say "Indischrot". Still a great site.

Thats what I was thinking, cuz the tag in the hatch area says "I 027". The code on the door jam is gone.

AFAIK only English language name changed. Thats why there is Indischrot in sticker always when German language name is in it.

I think I read someplace that Porsche started clear coating in the early 90's.
