You might want to hold off from doing this project to save your patience/time/money/sanity for doing any mechanical restoration that you find the car needs.
Many have found a nice S4 only later to discover that it is in need of a full maintenance cycle on many items, which takes time, money, patience and includes some 928 down-time. Once the mechanicals are off your list, the driving fun begins and you can think about wheels and cosmetics.
I'm not a pessimist, just a realist.

Okay Brutus...stick a pin in my balloon, burst my bubble, spoil the party, etc... I was just dreaming!
Your point is well made, you are realistic, I on the other hand am trying to be optimistic, the car will great mechanically and I can (or will) afford some cosmetic enchancements!
