JEC_31,
There are no stupid questions, just ...
Oh forget it. Some of them are ridiculous, the best part about this list is that even when they are ridiculous, everyone is really patient as long as you are honestly trying to work it out.

Hi Wally,
I missed your post at first, sorry. The car needs a bit more than a timing belt change to be ready for a long trip. It has been sitting a while, so at least needs a tune-up and a good review too.

Jim B. said to someone, "You will either love it or hate it." I think he meant, if you don't like working on it you may hate it -- but it gives a LOT in return and it will be reliable. I will say there have been times when I haven't loved it, but Rennlist helped clear the rough road.
A plug for 928 Intern'l and 928 Specialists: They can help with questions. They know the car.

I usually will call it a Love/ Hate relationship which really means it is not average ...A Toyota Camery is pretty average so no excitement few disappointments just transportation. The 928 higher highs lower lows but never AVERAGE...

Hey Leperboy,
Congrats on your purchase. Welcome to Rennlist. What I did when i got mine home was to start a list of needs and wants. I then prioritized them with the tb/wp first. Second came a major tuneup along with intake gaskets and new vacuume lines. Next was the cv boots. I have finally gotten through the critical issues on my list and the car runs as well as any new car i have driven. I think the shark will prove much more of a pleasure to work on then the Ford. The Germans seem to be aware when they build a car that someday someone is going to have to work on them.
Best of luck and post some pic's when you get her home
