I heard about this Mustang thing - what gives....? You're not going all cheap horsepower on us are you...? not trading in the racer next?...say it isn't so...!

Thanks again for all the nice comments, the motor came out even better than I expected.

Mike, the engine was completely apart, so part of my contribution to the project was cleaning! Lots of degreaser and brushing, made a bit easier with everything apart!

You're right Drew, Dan at Exotic Motorwerks outdid himself again!

I did finally get to start her up again today... for the first time in almost a YEAR!!! Been driving around quite a bit this evening, can't wait for the roadtrip to Sharktoberfest. Now I know I'll actually be driving my GT

M Danger, the turbos were just Dan at Exotic Motorwerks having a little fun. A few of the guys caught the joke earlier in the thread. The turbos were actually off a 911 race car they have in their shop.

I wish the twin turbos really were part of the rebuild project! Dan's still kicking that one around for a 928... He figures if Porsche did a single for a 944 turbo (1/2 the 928 motor), a twin turbo 928 should be possible, but packaging is a MAJOR issue.

oh, bummer. Yeah well take a 951 manifold and put the turbo on the end of it and plumb it right up!

Giving the S4 up was a tough choice, no question about it. Although, it was the best choice considering my new position and the daily commute (35 miles one way). I do miss the S4.

I'll say this. The GT is definetly a fun, fast car. With exhaust and air intake kits, your looking at 300rwhp.

Race Car will probably never leave my hands. Im planning on running the east track with Pro Auto come March. Should be fun.

Knowing Dan and his knowledge of 944's and 928's and wrenching skills, I won't be surprised if he doesn't find a way to make it work... in his spare time... eventually...

Ryan, I posted one on the "show us under your hood" thread, but it wasn't all buttoned up with all the accessories on and was from too far away. I'll try and take a better/closer shot tomorrow if I can, although I still need to clean up the air box, fan shroud and a few other items. I may not be able to get to that until after we roll into town on Friday afternoon!

Otherwise, you'll definitely get to see it Saturday!

Last minute glitch may be that the engine wiring harness may need to be replaced... checking with Jim at 928 Int. for a good used one or may have to go with a new one.
Should be ready for it's maiden road trip to Sharktoberfest, can't wait
Bump for one hot looking lump!

Now you can put a "Testarossa" badge on your 928 without overstating any facts...

This has already been done, albeit with custom manifolds and Garrett BB turbos.

Ryan, thanks for bringing the memories back! Yeah, the motor definitely looked better on the stand than in the car, but still looks pretty good inside the engine bay. Would have been nice to have two of them, one for the car and one to sit on an engine stand in the garage to just stare at

The GT is back to daily driver status, just turned over 158k on the odo, so about 15k on the motor. Time to check the T-belt!

Nicole, my Ferrari buddies would probably frown on that...

But I wouldn't mind have a real Testarossa parked in the garage next to my GT. Having 2 of the 3 fastest cars in the world (back in their day) would be very cool. Friend of mine let me drive his TR a few years ago... I could live with one!
