Default Grey material on lower control arm bushings

In the middle of a MM swap. Upon removal of the rear lower control arm caps, there is a grey material that looks like old petrified grease, but feels like dried silicone. What needs to go back under these caps when I bolt the crossmember back up. The cap covers the outer (metal) shell of the bushing, and I am assuming this is some kind of anti-squeak stuff???
