That's all I really wanted say.
I was able to put my foot down tonight and charge through to 140mph or so.
Felt good.
Bigmac, don't let my mother-in-law read this.
*disclaimer: do not attempt this at home! driven safely on a closed-course!

Brian,
is the 2.54 shift the final shift into 4th? If so, mine occurs somewhere north of 130mph, almost 140mph, it seems, at around 6k. I'm never really watching the guages as much as the road, but it's definitely beyond 120mph.

OT Saw and more importantly HEARD a new Ford GT on the street yesterday. My god, it sounds mean. The money is ridiculous for what you get, but I would like to get a taste, a ride and then the lottery.

interesting shift point Chaad - my '86.5 shows 125 at 3rd-to-4th 6300rpm. Near 140 @ 6k is a ton more gearing; perhaps increased tire diameter since I've still got the 225/16's.
Sure is a fun shift though!!

The later auto cars have the 2.54 rear end...so they are geared a touch lower.......a 90 I drove shifted at about 120.....

Thats odd since a 225-50 is taller than the 245-45? Either way its still fun!

Brian - true 225/50 would be a smidge taller than 245/45 on the same rim. I wasn't sure of his tire size, but his avitar looks like 17" cups, so I was thinking 245+ typical size would be a bit taller than my 16's by 1"+. Maybe that rotational loss would account for the taller overall gearing and shift point speed increase.
...huh, or maybe mine's got the 2.54??
