What's the difference once again between S4 and other 32V onces?

I think the castings are slightly different with some indentations in the earlier 32V covers I believe for spark plug wire clearance, but i could be wrong, thats the only thing i noticed looking at the earlier covers. These covers pictures dont appear to have the indentations i was refering to though.
