Don't complain about the cost of parts!
We all do, but how many have actually priced out comparable parts on other cars?
My 98 Land Rover just decided that one of the windows would not go up or down. Sound familiar? Not the switch, the nylon roller shattered!
Anyway, the roller is not available from LR at all, you must replace the entire mechanism at $132 ++ . I just happen to have a 928.537.918.00 ( window roller) in my parts bin, and it is an exact fit. So a $2 part ( at Porsche dealer parts counter) saves me $130, which I can now spend with my favorite 928 parts supplier!
Oh, and if any of the big 3 get calls from a Land Rover owner, guess where they got the part number from!

Aftermarket balljoint boot. The factory ones are made of unobtanium, so we must resort to Audi boots at $20+ each without retaining rings or the ones I have for $8 each with retaining rings. They fit 928s, 944s, NSXs, 5000Ss, some Mercs, and various other things people haven't tried yet.

I've put new rotors on my Taurus for $20 a piece. A rebuilt brake master on my Buick for $15. What an engine gasket kit costs for a 928 will get you the gasket kit, the bearings, rings and new pistons for a Chevy. The list goes on.
A 928 is only comparable to other low production exotic cars. Let's laugh a the Ferrari boys 'cause their about the only targets we've got.

WoW Rotor upgrades to S4
Dang, those Jag parts are steep! Rotors, conversion kit, pads and such from 928intl including shipping was about $880.00. This is with the fronts being cross drilled/vented too!

You really can't complain unless you want all your parts made in China!!! Then you'll get a mediocre part for a little bit less. I work for a company with 19 stores- I have worked in 6 of them ranging from the high end of town to the bailing twine and bubble gum neighborhoods- I've used OE parts and parts from az and advanced- particularily brake parts. Night and day difference! I try to find parts made in USA or Canada or buy OE as long as I feel they are not breaking it off in me too bad. Of course my previous 944 had most of its parts from Germany (like their regulations). And do Porsches really need that many parts compared to a Ford or GM.........

On the average Porsche parts are high, priced a radaitor latley?
Brake parts? I buy parts for cars every day, 80%+ of our work here at my shop is made in Europe.
Granted some parts are not so bad, but for the most part, you will pay a Porsche tax.

I justify it this way, I bought the car for under 4k, if it costs me $300/mo for parts and maintenance, that's about what I'd have for a car payment of a new car, and this one is going to retain or appreciate in value (admittedly not dollar-for-dollar) where a new car would just dive dive dive in value until it's just another used car.
Plus it's way cooler.

I have not been surprised with the parts costs on the 3 Porsches I have owned over the years; higher then American cars, comparable to other imports. The labor costs on repairs I can't do myself is what scares the hell out of me.
