there are very recent posts about flying someplace to pick up a car, and having it catch fire on the way home.
You can never be too careful about cat fires!

I broke one of my cam cover bolts when removing the air pump bracket for my crossover install. The gasket has not leaked in the 8 months since but this winter i a plan on doing a complete engine re-gasket, intake R&R/powercoat, and Vacuum lines, so it makes sense to upgrade the cam cover bolts at that time.

Ok, I pulled the plugs and did a compression check. 129-134 PSI. Plugs looked tan and relatively clean but the showed some ware. I put in new bosch gapped at .027.. the caps and wires are in very good shape.
The plenums had lots of oil as well as the MAF sensor and in the bottom of the lower intake area. I cleaned it all out. I can see why it smoked when I pushed it--although it is only getting about 70% throttle...?
The timing belt looks good all the way around, no signs of wear whatsoever. So it must be new like the papers say. Checking the continuity of the sensor, there was none. The belt was simply too loose. I don't have the gage yet to check it but used the wav file for the right tone-it was pretty accurate. when I reached the right tone, the sensor was working properly.
Regarding all that oil in the intake. I was thinking of putting a small air compressor water trap bottle in line before the Y. This worked great for catching oil on a turbo car I use to have. Has anyone tried it on these cars?
The motor mounts look to be in good shape, the motor is pretty solid. I should be running again this evening. If I still have the vibration, then i guess I go down below and have a look there.
