Default Heater oddity

Can anyone tell me why my heater doesn't blow through the center dash vents? It blows hard and hot through the defroster, leg vents and door vents, but not through the center vents. The center vents *do* blow OL with the AC and fan on, but as soon as you switch the temp control to hot, it stops blowing.

Thanks

take a look at this website that might help you out with how the heater valve servos work.

You don't mention year, but here are a couple more references:

TOBY

While very informative thank you, the 928 does not use servos (sadly) ... it used vacuum pods.

It's a '79.

The list of issues at http://www.nichols.nu/cat05.htm is great, but none match exactly what myissue is. A few were close, however, and I gather than this is a vent controller adjustment problem. Which I also gather does not require pulling the whole dash out.

Sound right?
