Default Memory Seat Switches

Next time you need a 4-way seat switch, you might want to buy a memory seat switch (928 613 201 00) and splice in the correct connectors for your seat.

Cost, $56, compared to the other switches (928 613 182 00 or 928 613 183 00) at $115 or $119.

I ordered two recently. Unfortunately, they're not in stock and are coming from Germany, but at two-fer prices, I can wait.

So Brian - why are they different - just that the connectors were swapped over?

Functionally they look exactly the same right?

Isn't it great to find these things... Like the red dash pod LCD bulbs that are about 1/2 the price of the white ones - even though they are just white ones with red covers you can just pull off!.

I guess most people don't have the warnings displaying long enoiugh to burn out too many red bulbs!

Still saving $50+ each beats saving ~$4 each

arghh - I wish I knew about this a month ago when I installed the pricey 4-way one that crapped-out on me...

thanks for the tip though Brian!

Actually, I learned about this the more expensive way--I called a year or so ago to order a replacement switch (when the other one crapped out) and just specified whether it was the fore/aft switch or the backrest switch.

When it arrived, it had the wrong connectors and had to splice in the correct ones (it had the 2 spades + the mercedes looking one, rather than the memory seat connector, which is a pin type connector). Turns out I needed a memory switch (the cheap one!) but neglected to specify when I ordered. I then went online to check pricing, and that's when I noticed the big disparity. By then I had already cut up the expensive switch and moved it over. Doh!

This time, I do need a memory switch for the driver's side, but one crapped out on the passenger's side, too. So I'm going to carve that one up.

It's super easy to do--I can't remember if the wires were the same color, or whether I just held each switch up to each other and made sure the same wires coming off the connector went to the corresponding place on the companion switch, even if the colors were different.

Can't imagine what on earth would cause such a difference in pricing--I am thinking about cornering the market and selling build-to-order switches for $75!!
