Mice already!
OK, this living in the sticks thing is getting interesting (I moved from the Bronx to the woods in Connecticut). Last week, my dog got bitten by a rather large snapping turtle who seems to live in the weeds behind my garage. Today, I thought I should take the shark out to give her a good beating. So I'm flying around the back roads letting her stretch her legs and what crawls oout from under the hood? A FRICKIN FIELD MOUSE! He sits there on my hood as I'm driving back to the garage and when I got out to chase him away, he crawls back under the hood!
OK, how do I get rid of this bastage before he eats my wires, filter, hoses etc?
I read in the archives that mothballs work, so I'm heading to wal-mart in the morning.
Any other suggestions that might work? I'm ready to get a big hungry cat...
Thanks

I have had some success in ejecting furry passengers that emerge from the cowl with a well timed swipe of the wipers - the little ba$tards never learn .
Mice love to set up shop inside the heater fan ducting area - hang a few mesh bags with some moth ***** all around the bay and on the floor under the engine.

Your mice have good taste...
your cat might think they taste good.
G 'luck (with the moth *****).
p.s. Long ago, in the sticks far away, I misspent part of
my innocent childhood in Washington, Conn, way before
CT. So, if you're out THERE, I know the mice are A-one.

We've got a squirrel problem here. Every once in a while I'll take a look under the hood of my old beater and see acorn shells. At least they leave before I start it up though. Maybe you found the answer to another post though, is that what the tiny back seats are for?

I know about the mice. I've got one living in my Bronco. Unfortunately, I have no advice, but I hope you get the little SOB. My Bronco is in the shop with computer problems right now and I know its got something to do with chewed up wires.

My parents live out in Ramona a small rural town north east of San Diego. My dad has had a big rat problem with his motor home. He has put rat poison where they want to nest on the engen block, and rat traps on the ground around the motor home. He gets about three or four rats a week in the traps and the poison gets eaten up. Good luck with the mice

That's right..Rat poison (the box of little blue pellets) keep putting it down until it stops going away!
Place a few boxes around the walls, mice like to stay along the edges of things, make sure you place em so that kids and anythig else can't get at it (like behind a bucket or box, etc.).

Drifting
Place some open containers of moth ***** under the engine compartment area
where you park the 928. Replenish as they evaporate. Check the air intake
runners as this is a favorite mouse living and seed storage area.

If you do choose mothballs, read the info on the package. It's a deadly poison that you don't want on your skin. Nasty stuff, I don't understand how older generations could stand the smell of those things in their closets.

And I didn't find moth ***** at Wal-mart...
I searched all over looking for them, finally found some at an old mom & pop hardware store. Yeah wear some gloves when you are placing them. Only two of my cars got them inside, but I saturated the shop with them. My Guards Red shark hibernates in a zipped bag, that keeps both mice and bugs out.
