Gauge cluster question?

IIRC 78 are on their own, then 79-81, then 82-84, then 85-88. The actual gauges themselves you can swap in 79-84. the 78 was unique in the guages and circuit cable. The best way to find out would be to look at the wiring diagrams and compare the 3 connectors that connect to the cluster.

Ok, that's kind of what I figured? The reason I ask, is that there's a cluster on Ebay that the seller says it for a 78" but that he removed it from a 84'. Perhaps the reason for the removal is that not all of it worked but I was surprised that someone attempted it in the first place.
