Munfred,

I'll definitely agree with 928andRC51 on the fact that the 5 speed S4 is by far the biggest bang for the buck! I've been saying that for years. The somewhat overpricing, yet unique appeal of the higher imaged GT is a huge $$$ drawback, when a 5 speed S4, with a little mod or two, could be damn near just as good. Of course, it's not a GT, but it certainly does look the same to the women, anyway. That's just one example, that's all. Just ask my wife. But, she thinks they all look the same anyway (what is she thinking!).

I know the car your talking about, and I e-mailed him a $20K offer the very first day the ad appeared and never even received a return call or e-mail. He must have not gotten it. LOL! Anyway, the car is far from perfect, has high miles considering, and is just plain overpriced. Be patient. The RIGHT one always comes along when you've finally given up!

P.S. I know of a '93 GTS automatic with less miles than that for less money too. Would you be interested in an auto GTS? PM me if your interested. Once again, I have no affliation. I'll give you the number and let you handle it from there. Oh, Zermatt silver with light grey/medium grey combo interior with all kinds of extra leather X and Y code goodies!

I think you are all crazy! A 1986.5 with a simple chipset will leave you all eating dust. Unless you have one of those specail 951's then it would be an even match. $ for $ '86.5 is the best deal in town.

Okay, I do agree with that, especially the late 86's.

I was only refering to the most bang for the buck for the last (or mostly last) bodystyled S4. But yes, the 86.5, of which I have had the pleasure of once owning was an awsome car!

Yeah, I didn't get the sense that the seller is ready to go too far below the 25k mark (I don't think he's in any rush to part with the car). Thanks for offering the connection for the '93 GTS. Unfortunately, I'm commited to finding a manual transmission. Munfred.
