Default Lubro-Moly/Liqui-Moly oils at Advance Auto

I was getting an oil filter for my Jeep today and noticed that Advance Auto carries Lubro-Moly/Liqui-Moly oils and additives. The prices are actually pretty good. Has anybody used this in their 928s or know anything about their oils' appropriate use in 928s?

Hi,
Matt - the Lubro-Moly/Liqui-Moly range of products are of good quality. Some versions have been Approved by MB and Porsche for many years

For Porsche these versions have Approval and are Listed;
Synthoil Hi-Tech 5w-40
HC7 5w-40

So Matt, the oils listed above will do the job well - down to -25C and up to 40C+

All lubricants that are Approved and Listed by an engine Manufacturer will perform much the same
There are no "magic elixer" lubricants of any Brand

It is unwise to add any additives of any sort to any high quality engine lubricant - and especially those lubricants that are Approved and Lised by the engine's maker

Regards

I searched for over an hour through English and German websites and couldn't find any specs for their oils. The best I could find was that their 5W40 had a higher HTHS than Mobil 1 0W40 (no actual number posted). A lot of the info and recommendations I found were on BMW and Audi sites. BMW owners seem to love Lubro-Moly/Liqui-Moly. I was thinking with the recent scarcity of M1 5W40, the LM 5W40 would be a good substitute. I would think the 10W40 and 15W40s would also be good. I was just a little concerned when I couldn't find specs.
