Exclamation CAM TENSIONER HELP!!

I have a 85S US with a manual. I have been in the process of replacing the oil chain tensioner, cyliders 1-4- part number 928-105028-08. Here are my issues, the chain tensioner was updated, so I had to buy new banjo bolt and oil J-tube to fit updated tensioner. I recieved my parts today, bolt is right size but the oil J-jube is exactly the same size as the old one!! The part number for the J-tube is what it supercedes to, has anybody crossed this bridge?? HELP!!

Why not call the people you bought it from?

I did, they are telling me that that is the correct superceded part number for that J-tube and the chain tensioner!! Called a local Porshce dealer and the gave the same part number?!! When put the bolt in the J-tube its loose, but once in tensioner you can tighten down? So hopefully somebody out there can verify if I can go with that J-tube?

It looks like the correct part number is 928 105 213 02. Who did you buy it from?

Thats exactly the part number I have, 928 specialist. Bought the updated banjo bolt and that updated J-tube, the part number I posted was the updated chain tensioner. The issue its exactly the same size as the old J-tube but the banjo bolts are different sizes! The updated banjo bolt fits the updated chain tensioner.
Thx

Been there...same problem. I ordered it from 928 Spec and 928INTL. They both came incorrect. I determined that is was not their fault....since both sent the same part (one from stock and one direct from Prosche). I ended up finding a used one from Devek. I spoke with an engine guy that went to a box of parts for an 87up and found the one I was looking for. I had to explain how the tensor was mounted...and which way the tube should fit...and the fact the new one was much smaller than the original one. Good luck.

as for chain tensioners, is there a part number to replace just the plastic rails that the chain runs on wwithout having to buy the entire tensioner. I need some for my spare GT engine

You can just replace the pads, the big 3 all carry them
