I *wish* these were Porsche wheels. Looking like I finally saw a set of wheels I like and won't be able to find them.

My old Peugeot 505 had wheels like the benz. what a pain in the ***. The flat dish wheels are actually harder in my opinion, cas there's a lot of contours in the slots.

Borys- there's somebody with a 928 nearby that's one of the blues similar to Marine Blue. My buddy was waving like an idiot at the person driving it until he realized it wasn't me. I've seen a black 85'ish several times on Sheridan commuting to and from the city. There's been a couple others.

Being on the north shore, I see at least one 996 or 997 everyday. Usually more. I seem to be seeing a lot of Maserati's as well, and the new Bentley's are quite popular. I even saw a 308 the other day!

"In the 2 years I've owned my shark I've NEVER seen another 928 driving on the road. Not once. I see one or two parked at the local Porsche shop when I go by, but I've never seen them move. And since I've never let anyone else drive mine, I've never actually seen a 928 rolling. Period".

Man, that is too funny. Kind of like spotting a unicorn around here too. They are stunning in motion, you must experience this so you know how awsome they look going down the road. Video doesn't quite capture it right. Watching mine pulling away makes me smile every time. Although this doesn't happen very often.

That is because that is where they spend most of their time

Good work Andrew.
They're TGF MX wheels:

Spyderwerks (the custom 928 convertable builder) sells them:

$299 a piece, not too bad for something unique.

I wonder if the stock lug nuts will work with that wheel.

As for cleaning the wheel, the surfaces are fairly smooth...so it shouldn't be too difficult. I guess it also depends on the type of brake pads that you are using in addition to how often the wheels / car is cleaned.

Awesome work Andrew, I was wondering if blowing it up would show that, but figured it would be blurry - I'm not good at that kind of stuff.

edit- hey Andrew, where'd you get the picture you blew that up from, it looks different from the 2 I saw, like it was a picture of the whole car?

One of my missions at SITM this year was to take pictures of some of the various cool wheels. What you see below are re-sized for posting.

Very cool! You got a couple good ones there. That first one looks like Dave C's car?
