No they're not stock.
Most new cars have red rear turn signals.

Matt - As Roger says - certainly not in Europe...
You will never find red indicators on models for sale in Europe - just not allowed - they must be orange/amber. Thats why the 928 is the way it is - many other cars have reworked lights just for the USA.... OR USA models sold in Europe have adaptation for the European market. Often of course European cars just maintain the amber indicators on USA cars for ease of manufacture...
Typically in Europe you will not see the central brake light either - although some models sold elsewhere still have it (just to save on versions) - it is not required in Europe.
Similarly in Europe orange marker lights are not allowed - orange is strictly reserved for indicators - so USA model 928's technically would be illegal due to the orange front/side marker... The side illumination on Euro 928's is an indicator only... as is the front indicator....

Actually, you do find tail light lenses that look all red in Europe nowadays - but they are done in a way that when the thing illuminates, it still looks amber. Not quite sure how that works, though. I've even heard that they now come in green and blue look, but still illuminate in the correct colors.
AFAIK, center brake light is pretty much standard on all European cars nowadays - at least on the continent. Not sure, if ti's required or just put in by the manufacturers for standardization.
Anyway, the lenese on ebay are not stock; most likely they have been painted.

Wait, wait - you are saying someone in an accident with a 928 hit the steering wheel? Was he buckled up at the time of the accident?
In our recent steering wheel thread quite a few owners claimed that could never happen to someone who is buckled up. I disagreed...

Paul Tracy hit the steering wheel in his Champ Car a few years ago wearing a 6-point harness. It's amazing how far the neck will stretch when pushed to the limit - this was a pre-HANS accident. He went airborn at RA - came down very hard on all 4-wheels. Weight of his helmet stretched his neck down, slammed into the wheel. Very painfull for PT.
