Great shot of the famed lightweight 928S at the 1984 24 hours of Daytona!
Having attended this race several times I find a startling difference in attendance back then to more recent years.
There are people in the stands and the infield is packed. Much more of a crowd than I have seen in recent years. It seems a shame that this great race is so poorly attended.
It is in stark contrast the the Sebring 12 hour which is overrun with people.
After a 900 mile drive from TX to FL, it is officially in its new home.
Averaged about 70mph and 18.5mpg between I10 and I75. Not a bad number, considering the speed and tire sizes (295 in the rear).
I dropped one of the bolts holding the cable quadrant to the intake. Found the washer perched on the "frame" near the MC. But I heard the bolt ring different metallic items on it's way to a hidden resting place. I looked from above, probed around with the magnetic pickup tool, and felt from below with my fingers. I did this for about 45 minutes. The broke out the endoscope that displays the image on my iPhone. The first dark recess I sent it into, on top of the cross member in a recess in the frame...BINGO!
