As I recall, I trapped you in a 964 Carrera 4 with Frank Zappas Broken Hearts are for A$$holes blasting on the stereo (hid the remote ;-) back in another lifetime...
Heres the current shot without the Cassette holder.
The Camp 928 Clubhouse is closed up! The young fellows who installed the garage doors asked about my cars, I said "Porsche 928" in that uncertain tone of voice, you know, anticipating disappointment: not a muscle car, not even a 911 - "a what?" Instead, one of them says "Oh, sure, I had one of those." That could be a good thread - "Tell us about your chance meetings with unlikely 928 owners." They also enjoyed the Camp 928 mix "tape" I played while they worked - this is a country-music-free construction site.
The door tracks follow the sloped ceiling (scissor trusses) and have side-mount openers. I narrowly avoided the error of mounting ceiling light fixtures above where the doors are when raised. Like working on the 928, it pays to go slowly and do a lot of thinking.
I may have PTSD over the insulation installation, but it passed inspection last Friday. The drywall crew comes tomorrow - "Fast Johnnie", his brother Joe, and a couple of sketchy-looking guys. I learned yesterday that one of them doesn't merely look the part, he's an actual felon!
I'm working on a rebuild of a 1980 Euro S engine. It was filthy outside and really nasty inside. I didn't expect the metal to be blackened like it is with a lot of black goo clining to everything. I ran it for a few years with synthetic oil and thought it was going to clean itself up a bit.
On the plus side, the cylinder bores are perfect! I haven't found a single scratch. The bearings looked good, too. No pitting on the block decks of the heads. A bent lift hook suggests that it was pulled and replaced but I haven't figured out what work was actually done.
