Can't wait to show these pictures to a friend of mine. He drives a Scion (the box one) and was rear ended by a Nissan Pathfinder on Doheny and Wilshire. He was stopped, she was going 45mph and never touched the brakes. The impact was square and crumpled the Scion to the rear of the front doors. He did not walk away unscathed.
Injuries were severe concussion and required staples in the back of the head, slipped disc in his back and a few other internal injuries. He was out cold and doesn't remember a thing. Also, none of the airbags deployed not that I'd expect them to since it was a rear end accident. He's up and walking around now though with a new outlook on life.

Just for information, he was hit by the truck while standing still. He was push into a citroën that was totally wreked, and the 2 people in it had to be cut free. The citroën was push into a peugeot 206 that had mostly cosmetic damage.....But the 928 cabin was intact, as was the front except from front lenses broken. The rear not to good, but he only had a blue eye from hitting the steering wheel. He was push maybee 20 meters and ended up passed the citroën and the peugeot. He became the "bumper" off the truck, but saw him today and he is ok......

Just a bruise on collar bone area ...
Just before Christmas 2001, I got pushed into a retaining wall near Sunol/Castlewood on I-680 and hit in third at 5K rpm sliding after the rear broke loose (just rebuilt both MT and LSD three months before). Almost drove through the slide but the interstate took a strong right turn and just ran out of road. I just opened the door after releasing my seat belt and walked away crying over the loss; however, I am alive and only got a small bruise on my left shoulder.
Bye Bye first 928

Hey Andre,
Welcome to the forum
Ouch Glad you walked away uninjured from that one! That was a really nice 928 I’m familiar with that stretch of road, drive it once a week…

The others ...
Clint,
The others are my '77 euro that I can not import and my current '81 US project of fun. Yeah a newbie to rennlist forums, but far from that in the ownership arena. The '81 has at least 4X purchase price ($3500) in repairs and updates. One day in the next two years she has a date w/ Carl at 928motorsports for a stage 3 SC 5.9L high rpm power monster.
Cheers,
Andre

Andre - a few things here.
1. -- Awesome domain name. Linux has a special place in my heart.
2. -- Can't wait until that day comes for your 81'. I know a similar day is somewhere in the future for my 81', but who knows when that will be. First is a new paintjob is in order. Then looking to supercharge.
3. -- Sucks you can't import that car. The 77' certainly does appears to be in GREAT condition! The red really stands out in those pics amidst the snow. Where is it at right now? Also, what size are those phone dials, 16"?
Welcome!
