My grandparents and uncles lived there for years, and I know some pretty treacherous places to drive. I was there last Memorial Day to pay some respects to the dearly departed at Smithwick and all the roads, even the backroads were terribly congested with city slickers. I don't have any friends in the law enforcement office anymore, I bet I get a ticket.

The traffic does suck on the "Big Three" weekends (mem, 4th, labor) but I've found it very pleasing and uneventful on any of the other weekends. You can actually relax when you are driving it on the off season. I do know what you mean tho, our drives down on the heavy "tourist" season can get to you.
