Wheel Enhancement in Los Angeles. This has to be done right or you will end up with fragile wheels due to hydrogen embrittlement. Warning: these guys are very picky and will not take a wheel that is not perfectly straight. Stock S4 flats are forged and cannot be straightened. The original owner put chromed flats from Wheel Enhancement on my 89 in 1990. They are still in excellent shape and shine like they did in 1990.

We offer Chrome exchange service for the wheels have had them done for us for many years just click into the store below search for chrome...We can send you chromed wheels and use your rims as cores so there is no down time no need to put your car on jack stands for a month.
Yeah Ralph, I'd be happy to chrome your wheels. Saw a can of chrome spray paint at Walmart that'd do the trick. Won't even charge you for it, after all, what are freinds for!
Painting isn't so grazy idea as it may seem at first. There are modern paints available which will create almost perfect crome like finish. They contain very tiny aluminum particles. Few show cars like some factory Audis and MBs have used these on body. I think there has been pics in off topic forum. Paint is very expensive though.
Is there anywayto seal a nickle finish -long term- or is that how chroming came about?
I really like the soft glow of nickle over chrome is why I ask.
For engine components as well. But keeping a nickle finish lusterous under weather/engine compartment conditions seems impossible without a way to seal the finsh.
BTW
I've seen chrome flats and they are very nice looking.
I had mine done at Santa Ana Plating, two years ago. They still look outstanding, and they come with a two year warranty. They are located in Fullerton California, and their telephone number is 714-871-2490. Ask for Sharon. When I had mine done, the cost for 18" wheels was $95 each wheel plus shipping. Good luck
