its time again for "naaaame that part"
Yes sir folks its that time again where the stakes are high, winner takes all. Ok here we go:
79/euro/928/v8/5speed/4 seats/4tires/2doors
the part is a vaccume switch of some kind located in the e-brake cover. No its not the speaker control switch. it has two vac lines connected to it and tonight had some red fluid also in the lines.
chime in when ever you know the answer, dont be shy, just shout it out.

Si Senor',
The Patrone, he is correcto mundo.
The information should be in the owners manual.
Something to do with 'dipping' (?guru's?) different countries had oddball laws on lighting the pavement and also came in handy when hauling cannonballs and other semi-heavy objects.
You know...the tailend goes down the front end comes up and the next thing you know you have lit up the tree's embarassing various and sundry of our feathered friends during their private moments.
God only know's where the Fog's would be aimed.
This **** offered you the option of dipping/lowering the lights a tad assuming you were;
1. Sober
2. Gave a damn
3. There was fluid, good seals giving you some hope of actually making yet another questionable 928 system work.

this was only on RoW cars, most imported into the states had this disabled as it's illegal here
HOWEVER, due to age your car is USDOT exempt from most import restrictions and could be "restored to as original condition" per what they've told me

The later all electric ones work much better...
If you have hydraulic and they don't work - it would probably be easier to convert to electric than to refurb them - seems they all died (leaked mainly) eventually... anyone anywhere have working hydraulic adjusters with/without massive recent intervention?

Shark,
If she ain't leaking, leave it in place.
Check the archives and especially the Greg Nichols site for repair/pressurization.
I think someone came up with a long lasting "fairly' inexpensive repair/update.
Also, when your WUR and various regulators start puking there are several Early model guru's, Dennis Wilson amongst others to walk you thru the tests/rebuild.
Enjoy the pain
