Default Front bumperette removal

Ok, I know people have used a couple ways of removing the litle rubber bumperettes on the front and replacing with the Euro trim. I had the front splashguard off, and you have a pretty straight shot at this, the only issue looks like you'd need to drill some holes in the aluminum bumper to get a socket at. Can't imagine this would compromise the bumper, this seem like a good way to go at this?

I was able to do mine without drilling any additional holes in anything. It's a tight fit and the assembly is harder than dis-assembly. Had to glue the nuts to the wrench (hot melt glue) to get them far enough to start the threads. BUT, it can be done.

I offer a conversion kit that includes all parts and detailed instructions (4 pages, color printed with lots of pictures) on how to do the conversion.

The trick is to reach the nuts behind the aluminum bumper bracket. You need to drill some holes on the turn signal side to get to those. I can't see any other way of reaching those nuts with the bumper and spoiler attached.

Cool Nicole. What I'm suggesting is that instead of drilling in from the side through the plastic bumper, is from behind through the aluminum bumper. Jim, you're right that you could get through there, but it looked awfully tight, the hot glue was a good idea; I'm loathe to drill/cut anything.

Thanks for the responses!

hello All,

I was actually able to install the clear euro trim without removing the black bracket. I didn't want to take the chance removing the bracket now and sometime in the future, having to reinstall the assembly.

I had to modify the clear piece slightly (by removing the back section), but everything fits very well.

I did the same thing Roger did after I saw his.

Hey Roger, how you been? I rarely stop by here since I moved from the Chicago area. Send me a pm or email.
