That speed claim is suspect for review.

RDS
Mike and a few other 'Listers including myself live in Western Canada land of the Rocky Mountains and flowing prairie and few people for the size of land.

Doing 160kph is very easy and at certain times of day on the less travelled hways one can do this and higher speeds all day; ask me how I know

BTW a kilometer is 5/8 of a mile.

Staying with the antiquated imperial measurement is suspect!

Good job Mike - keep the faith alive!

Tell them there is a SRT8 title waiting for them in Texas.

I'm putting together the pics for a new thread of a 928 motor that will probably double the highest output of any 928 we have ever sean / heard of.

Todd made a comment to me this morning (guy buidling this motor) that his first "prototype" engine pulled harder at 180 than at 120. Then his speedo maxed out, he kept on accelerating.

I don't know, I am gathering the driver thinks he is good for a couple of seconds off the srt8 1/4 mile time. If the other thread goes much longer the stock srt8 is a 10sec off the lot 1/4 miler.

Sorry for the still working on that other thread in Photoshop

I think a normal S4 vs an RT Charger would be a good race actually. I worked for the Dodge dealer in Seattle for over a year and drove them extensively, ie beat the crap out of them . And don't worry, I don't work there anymore, they Barry Tested ones are gone .
Driven all the SRTs too, and ya know what, call me crazy, but I think I have a serious speed problem. Driving those 425hp SRTs around wasn't fast enough for me. I can manipulate the RT to burn the tires at 30mph on dry pavement, and a bit faster with the SRT on dry, but its just not enough power! Every time I opened the hood I immediately thought, "chop that intake manifold and bolt a roots on it."

So yeah, uh, ranting there... Speed, does that to a guy. RT (limiter removed) vs S4 auto, RT would top out much faster. RT vs S4 5spd, it'd keep up well, but the S4 would pull away at the end.

On to that supposedly 1400+ hp 928 being built...

I got to ride in a late model Viper, shortly before I got my 928. You do get spoiled by the experience. I'm probably better off without more power, though.
