Well since you already check the idle, here are a couple other things to check for.

It could be vacuum leak or the idle stabilizer is acting up. You can remove the idle stabilizer by taking the air filter and the MAF off. The stabilizer is located on the passanger side right under the last two intake runners.

To check for a vacuum leak, get a can of starter fluid and with short bursts, spray the engine while its running. If you find a location where the rpms go up, you can start looking for the vacuum leak in that area.

I dont get the location of the stabilizer though.... Even with the air box *** completely off... I fail to imagine the location...

I know its hard to imagine but it's there. Do a search on my name and the tread about the idle will have some pictures of what it looks like.
